Laptop and desktop computers are a great way to read comics. One of my favorite comic book readers for the Mac is Comical. Comical is free and it can read CBR and CBZ files and is available for OS X, Windows, and Linux. But there’s a catch.

Comical for OS X 10.2 to 10.6. Image from Comical website.
Comical runs on older Macs running OS X 10.3 Panther (see screenshot above, from the developer’s website) and OS X 10.2 Jaguar.
I’ve used it on OS X 10.4 Tiger and OS X 10.5 Leopard. It should also run on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Unfortunately for Comical fans using newer Macs, the app does not run on OS X 10.7 Lion 10.7 or OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. It’s a pity because Comical is a mighty good comic book reader.

For Mac users on newer machines, I recommend Ehon and and Simple Comic. You can also install Jomic though I haven’t tried it myself. If you use or have used Jomic, do let me know what you think of it.

Jomic doesn’t work on mountain lion. It was identical to comical, very good. I like simple comic now because I can navigate with the keyboard.
Thanks for the help!
