Get Ready for a 15-inch Macbook Air with Ivy Bridge

It’s not just updates for the iPhone and the iPad that are getting attention lately. Technology sites have been abuzz with the possible launch of a Macbook Air with a whopping 15-inch screen. New processors with Ivy Bridge processors are also to make an appearance on the next-generation Macbook Air.

Right now, Macbook Air line includes an 11-inch and a 13-inch models; 15-inch screens are only available on Macbook Pros.

As for CPUs, the current Macbook Air’s Sandy Bridge processor from Intel provides great performance while being a great energy saver. But Intel’s Ivy Bridge processor promises to be both faster and smaller than Sandy Bridge. Intel is also touting Ivy Bridge’s graphics and multimedia performance.

How to Install HP Printer Drivers in Mac OSX Lion

When I updated my iBook from Mac OS X Tiger to OS X Leopard, I suddenly found that I couldn’t print on my old HP printer. When I got my Macbook Air running Mac OS X Lion, I was faced with the same problem, which was that I couldn’t get my HP printer to run.

I don’t remember having to install or download printer drivers when I first got my iBook running Mac OS X Tiger. I just plugged in my printer and it was ready to use.

Where do you got to install printer drives in HP printers in Mac OSX 10.7 Lion?

But I suppose OSX Leopard and the succeeding OSs were cutting the fat where it can and preinstalled printer drivers were giving the OS larger footprints. So the solution was to have fewer printers installed.

How to Quit Mail, iTunes, Safari, or Any Other App When Even Force Quit Won’t Work

What do you do when an app refuses to freezes? First thing you have to try is force quitting an app.

How to Force Quit, option 1

  1. One way of doing that is doing a long press (or two-finger tap) on the app icon on the dock to make the contextual menu appear.
  2. Then you click force Quit or Force Quit.

What if an app won't force quit? What do you do?

Another is by on the application’s name in the menu bar on top right of the screen (to the right of the Apple logo ) and click Quit or Force Quit in the drop down menu.

But what if even force quitting doesn’t work? 

What the Mail app, Safari, or iTunes won’t quit even if you try to use the Force Quit? What if an app’s blue light just won’t go out?

Here’s another catch. When force quitting won’t quit an application, you can’t even shut down your computer (Apple logo  > Shut Down). And you get a message explaining why: The frozen app, Mail, Safari, or whatever, is stopping your computer from shutting down. Yes, you can’t even shut down your computer! Caramba!
